The variety of designs plates house numbers can tell us the kind of people who inhabit them. Some people put their family name, others indicate the name of the street, some are letters and not numbers, numbers are carved into the wall of the house itself, painted with a brush, worked in metal, wood, numbers worked on ceramic tiles or rustic, or even cast in concrete, there are styles in different colors and typography. I've also seen huge numbers into real "bunkers", which can give an idea of how big the house can be. That diversity, different from the monotonous Japanese plates, give a picturesque touch to the most humble in the DF.
